The new year is a time of celebration and resolution, but it's also a stark reminder that not everyone is fortunate enough to experience the same warmth and abundance. Giving to the MUHC’s Social Services Department during this time allows you to extend the spirit of generosity to those facing illness amidst hardship. Whether it's providing funds for groceries, baby items for new mothers, or assistance with transportation to and from the hospital, the MUHC Social Services Department ensures that individuals undergoing treatment are able to support themselves and their families. By making a donation, you are helping patients in need find solace and support during the festive season and all year round.

The MUHC’s Social Service Department
The MUHC’s Social Service Department serves and supports adult patients with complex care needs. These patient advocates help families cope with the stress of hospitalization, illness or injury and are specially trained to: provide counselling for patients and their families, assess psychosocial needs, and provide referrals to community agencies for support and additional services. MUHC social workers also help patients transition back to their homes as well as educate patients and their families about available community and government resources.
